25th Anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks in the USA

As we commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks in the USA, let us honor those we lost not only in remembrance, but through our continued commitment to service, justice, and compassion. May we ensure that future generations inherit not only the memory of that day, but also the enduring lesson that in the face of unimaginable tragedy, humanity’s greatest strength is found in how we care for one another.

None of us knows what tomorrow will bring, but each of us has the power to make a difference today by listening with empathy, standing beside those who are suffering, and ensuring that no victim, survivor, or grieving family walks their journey alone. Throughout my career as a victim advocate and former Commissioner for Victims’ Rights, I have learned that healing begins when people are heard, believed, and treated with dignity. Every victim matters. Every story deserves to be heard. Every person deserves compassion, respect, and hope. Those principles have guided my life’s work before and in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, and they remain as important today as ever!
